Wyndham Basketball is cancelling all basketball operations indefinitely as a precaution against COVID-19 (Coronavirus), based on medical advice from Australia’s Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy and Basketball Victoria

All scheduled junior and senior domestic fixtures will be cancelled until at least March 30th.
This means there will be NO FINALS series for the Summer 19/20 season.

We understand the gravity of this unprecedented decision, but we are living in unprecedented times.
The WBA’s number one priority is the health and safety of our community and we make no apologies for not compromising on this.

All basketball development programs have also been cancelled, including Aussie Hoops, Hoops Academy, DDP, Devils Edge and The WEST until governing health and sport bodies deem it safe to proceed.

Big V and VJBL have been cancelled for the weekend of March 14/15, and we will follow instructions from the leagues regarding future rounds. This decision has not been made lightly and we want to reassure the WBA community we are continuing to work with the Victorian Government and other appropriate health authorities to ensure the health and wellbeing of our entire community is at the forefront of any future decisions.

In these difficult circumstances we urge our community to keep calm, continue to adhere the expert advice and look after each other.
